Test Criteria
To award the ‘Tested Durability’ quality label, we test a garment's durability and care treatment:
- Workmanship, e.g. construction, pattern, finishing
- Color fastness, e.g. to light, sweat, rubbing
- Physical properties, e.g. tensile strength, abrasion resistance
- Optical properties, e.g. dimensional stability, seam twisting, appearance after laundering
- Functional performance claims, e.g. waterproofing, breathability, water repellency, UV protection
- Weak points, e.g. zippers, coatings, seam slippage resistance, elasticity ageing
- Harmful substance safety: Testing for chemicals of concern with OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification
